The
Respect Life Ministry has three main objectives:
1.
Prayer
At
least twice a year, we organize prayer vigils which usually include Mass,
Rosary, and Benediction for the cause of human life.
2.
Communication/Awareness
We
publish information in the parish bulletins to remind and inform our
parishioners that we, Catholic Christians, support and defend life.
We communicate to our Federal and State Legislators via telephone
and postcards our opinion regarding pending “life” legislation.
On alternate years, we hold either a poster contest or an essay
contest for our 7th and 8th
graders.
3.
Fund
Raisers
On
“Right to Life” Sunday, we encourage participation in the “Life
Chain” and we sell roses after Mass with the proceeds going to the Life
Centers, Birthright, Precious Life Shelter and Mary’s Shelter.
In the spring, we have a “Pennies from Heaven” campaign with
the proceeds aiding the shelter and Life Centers.
