As a Community of Faith, we at St. Hedwig School strive to create a Christ-centered environment that inspires and guides the students in the harmonious development of their spiritual, intellectual, psychological, physical, sociological and aesthetic gifts.

Graduates of St. Hedwig will be:

1.    Catholic believers who witness to Christ’s message in their daily lives.

These believers will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Catholic doctrine.

  • Make decisions based on morals and ethics.

  • Develop lifelong love, understanding and practice of their Catholic faith.

  • Develop a personal relationship with God through prayer and service.

  • Participate actively in the church as compassionate, faith-filled, faithful Catholics.

2.     Confident learners who possess the foundation needed for lifelong learning.

These learners will: 

  • Demonstrate strong academic competence in the basic skills.

  • Develop and use effective listening and communication skills.

  • Be able to think critically and solve problems.

  • Be confident and determined to pursue and accomplish academic goals.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of time management.

  • Be technologically competent.

3.     Emotionally healthy persons who show respect for themselves and others.

These persons will: 

  • Have a developed moral self.

  • Be accountable for their decisions and actions.

  • Have compassion for the needs and feelings of others.

  • Be able to apply critical thinking to their own actions.

  • Have empathy to care for others and take action in their community.

4.     Individuals who are aware of and develop practices for lifelong physical well-being.

These individuals will: 

  • Practice a healthy lifestyle.

  • Appreciate physical limitations, strengths and weaknesses.

  • Respect their body.

  • Recognize that studies, playtime, sports and other extra curricular activities revolve around Christian values.

  • Try their best at all times.

5.     Caring, respectful citizens who are responsible members of society.

These citizens will:

  • Be effective communicators.

  • Accept responsibility for their actions and understand how their choices affect others.

  • Be courteous and practice good manners.

  • Acquire the skills needed to develop healthy relationships with others.

  • Develop the ability to work well with others.

  • Accept and celebrate diversity in others.

6.     Aesthetically conscious persons who respond to creation creatively and responsibly.

These persons will:

  • Recognize God’s handiwork in nature.

  • Be responsible for the stewardship of God’s creation on local and global levels.

  • Recognize and appreciate the works of great composers and artists.

  • Recognize and appreciate the different forms of fine arts.

  • Develop and share personal aesthetic talents.
