to join
us!
St. Hedwig Parish Youth Ministry Program invites you to meet others
to: share life, experience community, get in touch with your Catholic
faith, and have fun in a youth focused atmosphere. Our program includes
Fellowship Nights, Youth-In-Christ Nights, Day Retreats, Religious
Education Conference Youth Day, Diocesan sponsored Youth Events, and
other social activities.
Confirmation is the sealing of our Baptism and the infusion of the Holy
Spirit, who empowers us to radically live our faith. It is God
confirming His belief in us.
Confirmation preparation is woven into our High School Youth Ministry
Program. It is a two-year course of study, with service and
community stressed along with doctrines and morals. The program is
designed to provide candidates with an opportunity to develop and deepen
their sense of belonging to the parish and the larger church; deepen
their personal commitment to Jesus and their faith; and explore ways
they can become active ministers within the faith community after they
are confirmed.
Preparation for Confirmation includes
attendance at Sunday Mass, Confirmation Nights, Fellowship Nights, First
Year Confirmation Retreat, Liturgical Rites, and participation in
Eucharistic Adoration, Sacrament of Reconciliation and Service Project
requirements.
Confirmation registration packets are
distributed in the month of July. A description of the program will be
included in the packet. Registration forms, all fees, and a copy of your
teen's Baptismal Certificate are due the second week in September. A
mandatory Parent/Teen Information Meeting will be held in September
outlining the two-year program in detail. In addition, a Confirmation
Process Booklet will be given to every family registered in the program.
